glossary definition:
sunscreen:
UV Protection, sunblock

Sunscreen is a skincare product that protects from damaging Ultra-Violet rays. Protection from the sun is the most fundamental step in good skincare - sunscreen (or products including sunscreen) should always be worn, regardless of the weather.

Sunburn is cellur damage to the cells of the skin. The redness associated with sun damage is actually blood near the surface of the skin, trying to repair these damaged cells.

Some products are pure sunscreen, often available in lotions, creams, and balms. Remeber that any oil-based lotion is probably more of a tanning product than a sunscreen.

Today, most skincare and cosmetics lines include sunscreen. Look for UVA, UVB, and SPF ratings on many new foundations, powders, lip balms, etc..
